Most of the reporting about Barack Obama’s election victory makes it appear that there is an almost universal euphoria over this historic event.

It’s really sad. I know that these are just anecdotal examples, but it illustrates that even in the context of a historic victory, we must remain vigilant in the face of racism and bigotry.
